Since a teenager, I have been an avid fan of the Brother Cadfael books by the author Ellis Peters, so designing a monk has been on my list for quite a while. This doll is 14cm tall, knitted in double knitting wool & worked flat. There are many different monk outfits, but I have decided to leave off the hood on this design to show the classic medieval monk hairstyle. The pattern is easy and suitable for beginners.
