King Henry VIII Knitting Pattern

The main body of the teapot cosy, bodice & head are knitted all in one. This means, no wobbly heads... The jerkin is knitted in dark grey & light grey, with the bottom half a simple skirt, put over the main body of the cosy.

The Surcoat is a rich maroon colour, with lines of mustard knitted into the design to represent the gold detail in the portrait of Henry VIII. This is lined with a moss stitch edging, to represent fur. The surcoat & arms are detachable from the main body, so makes washing the teapot cosy easy.

The cap & simple wool cords finish off the teapot cosy.
I am hoping to one day knit Henry's wives...

Teapot Cosy Knitting Pattern

I have used the 'Speckle Rib Stitch' for this pattern. The pattern is worked in DK wool, using double thread throughout. You can use chunky wool if desired. This is a really simple pattern to follow.

Using double thread, combined with the texture of the stitch, this makes the cosies thick & padded, which will keep the teapot warm.

I wanted to use bright colours for this teapot cosy, something perfect to brighten up a cold winters day.

This pattern comes with a basic knitting instruction booklet for beginners.

Edwardian Lady Teapot Cosy

This is my first novelty teapot cosy. Inspired by my family tree research, this is based on a British Edwardian Lady.

I have used bold colours, using the round teapot to shape the skirt. The doll comes with a detachable hat, adorned with flowers & a bow at the back of the dress.

The skirt, bodice & hat are knitted all in one, so no wobbly heads...

I have used double knitting wool, but just used double thread, so this knits up really quickly.

I have thought of spring and the colours during this season. Spring is a wonderful season, as we emerge from winter & nature starts to wake up.

The stitches used are:
Knit two together & Purl two together with the yarn going to the front & back of the work to create the texture.

The colours used are: Green, Yellow, Orange & Coral.

I love the colour combination & uniformity of the strips, perfect for a teatime table at the beginning of spring.
